I was going to vote for you untill you wend down this crazy path. Dont you realize the danger to this country you and Kennedy and Bush are embracing, there will be no America, that you fought so bravely in the past left. Why are you doing this? It is absolutely Amnesty dont kid yourself, it's a disgrace dont kid yourself about that either. You keep atacking Romney about being a "flip flopper" ,well I think he is standing up for the majorty vote. The majority of American people want the border closed Today, want ICE to do there jobs, you dont have to "round up 12 million people in one go, that's crazy no rational person thinks that, but how about 12,000? that's reasonable isnt it? It's not the amount, it's the message. The other thing that the majority are screaming for is to fine the employers with such a ridiculous fee that they will either never hire an illegal or never do it again, come on ,common sense, i thought that's what you were all about.

Dear Senator McCain,
I have no doubt in my mind that you would protect this great country of ours from the threat of radical Islam. I have no doubt that you would do whatever it would take to secure our country against terrorists. And for that, I wanted to cast my vote for you.
I have no doubt in my mind that any President would do the same, however it is far more necessary for a President to call a threat by it's real name. This is one of your greatest strengths that has earned you my respect.
Our military is the greatest in the world and would no doubt protect us, also. The common American citizen, too is the bravest and will also stand up to protect itself. I don't fear the threat of radical islam as much as I fear illegal immigrants.
The threat of illegal immigration is a bigger threat to this country than any other. It is a slow bleed that cannot be stopped without pressure. Pressure to keep them out. Pressure to make their lives here miserable by enforcing the laws we already have in place. Pressure to discourage them to not come here in the first place. Let them know that America is not a great place for an illegal.
Illegal immigrants have no intentions nor desire to become Americans. They want only to glorify their native lands they fled from on our soils. They degrade our country by breaking our heritiage and our pride. All-the-while sucking our government dry.
Supporting or creating any kind of bill that gives amnesty to these illegals is a disgrace. This is why you lost my vote.

I have never been comfortable with being labeled either liberal or conservative. I have always tried to look clearly at the important issues, attempting to make an informed decision in the best interests of our Nation and society. For some time I have believed that only John McCain was a viable candidate I could vote for. John seemed to be the only possible alternative for my vote. I have been impressed with his apparent refusal to place politics or personal ambition above what he believed was best for our country. He seemed to be a true patriot and citizen in a field of candidates of both parties who clearly would say anything or advocate any platform to advance themselves, regardless of the potential adverse consequence to America. Now, I just don't see any presidential candidate that I can support or vote for. John's positions on illegal immigration and several other social issues simply do not make any sense to me. I cannot understand his positions, and I will not support a candidate advocating positions and policies that surely will harm, if not destroy, our Nation. I don't know what kind of Nation John thinks will result from his proposed immigration policy. I do know that it will not be the America many of us have fought and sacrificed for. I will not be complicit in any action that will effectively surrender America or result in her complete destruction.

Forget getting elected unless you are against any form of amnesty. You can not grant amnesty to unknown millions of aliens(lawbreakers) and at the same time represent hard working American Citizens that overwhelmingly are against allowing criminals into this country. You can't have security and allow untold millions here simply because they broke the law.

Senator McCain; the so-called immigration bill is actually AMNESTY FOR INVADERS! Surely you must know this but be advised: Americans are enraged, not just concerned or angry..ENRAGED! What is it about the word illegal that politicians like you don't seem to comprehend? Top priority is immediately closing the borders. It's vital!

Dear Senator McCain,
I am writing to ask you to withdraw your support for amnesty. Please sir, do not play the semantic game. Your bill supports allowing ILlegals to stay in our country. If you continue this traiterous act, I will NEVER support yo in any capacity you seek and will do all in my power to inform multitudes to follow my path. Please support closing our borders & sending ILlegals to their homelands.
Thank you, sir, for listening to my concerns.
Sincerely,
Tom P in Aurora, Co

I am sickened and angry in regard to this proposed bipartisan bill on immigration. McCain and Kyl have betrayed the American people for a group of illiterate illegals who have raped this country, our social and medical programs, our schools, our social security, and lastly, overrun this great country with drugs and violence. To legalize gang members, child predators and drug dealers in this bill is insanity. It is a third world mentality that is quite frightening, while another author of this bill - Kennedy appears to be in bed with Mexico, while another Kennedy, Joe is supporting Hugo Chavez. What are these politicians thinking, they are certainly not representing the American people. Clinton has hired a former head of La Raza, a radical Mexican group, to advise her, so again, why the third world mentality. If we do not close our borders and start exporting illegals, then we will be reduced to the status of a third world country, and the torture and beheadings that are going on in Mexico at this very moment will soon take over in the streets of our country. I have no faith in Bush or this Congress and they seem to continue to put our country on a path of destruction.

Dear John,
I supported you in 2000 because of your service to your country during the Vietnam War. I felt that you were courageous, patriotic and undeniably conservative but your recent actions especially concerning the immigration bill before the Senate has thoroughly changed my mind, not about your patriotism but about your conservatism. You are becoming more like Senator Spector, RINO, (Republican In Name Only). I have to look past your experience in the Senate and your service in Vietnam and look now at your current work. You keep justifying your position on this immigration bill by saying this is a compromise where everyone has to give and take. NOT SO! We owe NOTHING to illegal aliens. We owe everything to the legal citizens of America. They should be your first and only concern. Let Mexico and other countries take care of their own. I have been watching the Senate proceedings on C-Span daily and see now how destructive this bill will be for America if it is passed. I feel like I am watching the country I love so much slowly being destroyed by the very same people we voted into office. I feel betrayed by you and all the other sponsors of this bill. I have decided to vote and support Mitt Romney because he understands what this bill will do to America and is against it. He is FOR Americans first as you are not. I plan to give him my full support. When the Republicans lost the House and Senate last November you said, "Republicans had lost their way." They sure did and you are one of them who led the way. I will never vote for you again, period.

Illegal immigration is the primary issue that will drive my voting. This countries foundations were built on our justice system and the rule of law. If we do not respect the laws of our own country how can we expect its newest members to respect them also? There is no gray area here, despite the medias efforts to muddy the water with sensational emotional appeals. Debating over whether we should protect our borders and enforce our laws is as insane as arguing with your wife whether or not you should lock the doors of your home to prevent vagrants from entering your home, and deciding whether or not to let them stay after they intrude. Now play out that analogy to the point where after you let them stay, they start protesting about what's in the fridge and whining about who gets to hold the remote. Waving the flags of other countries while you decry your 'rights'? Have we all gone mad? American citizens have rights. If they want to enjoy the rights and freedoms of citizenship, let them follow the application process, LEARN THE LANGUAGE, study for the test, SERVE IN OUR MILITARY, and earn their citizenship as though its still worth something.

Not-so-dear John:
After supporting you with money in 2000, now I toss your three- times-a-week campaign mail in the garbage where it belongs -- without opening it! You may have been a hero in Vietnam, but now you have turned into a villain.
You have sold out to two of the most poweful, self-serving interest groups: The hypocritical political establishment and the business interests that have made the previously passed immigration laws a big joke!
There is only one law that should be passed and VIGOROUSLY ENFORCED, without exceptions: Make it a federal felony for aiding and abetting any illegal caught in this country, punishable by 5 years in the federal 'big house'. No parole and no fines to buy their way out! Make all corporate CEOs and owners of private businesses subject to this law (not some poor schnook down the corporate food chain). You would see the biggest stampede towards the Rio Grande in recorded history -- going the right way -- and it would not cost anything beyond the trampled barbed wire or any already built walls.
Any illegal caught, after a short period of grace and prior to deportation, should be thrown into one of those tent prisons run by the famous sheriff Arapajo of Maricopa County, AZ who feeds his prisoners 12 cent baloney sandwitches. You would see that pretty soon there would be no illegal immigration problem.
As things stand right now, you do not deserve to be the next President of the Land of the Free, and Home of the Brave!
Regards,
Stan from Niceville, FL

While I have respect for your past service, I cannot support you or any other politician that supports ANY bill that supports amnesty and does not address FULL BORDER SECURITY! The vast majority of citizens in this country want the borders secured. This, along with protecting the U.S. from Islamic extremist is the most important issues of the day and the two are combined. We do not want to hear your political BS about either the humanitarian crisis of the illegals or the "great" value of the illegal immigrants for our economy. The economy is irrelevent if we are dead!
