John P Gives His "Dear John..."
I have admired your strong stand on the War against America's enemies
abroad, but I have long been skeptical of your stands on campaign reform,
judicial nominations, and immigration reform.
Nonetheless, I was prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt in 2008,
as a serious candidate for the Republican nomination. I've worked for
every Republican presidential candidate since Ike in 1956, and would have
been prepared to enthusiastically support you should you have won the
party's nomination.
Your support of the latests immigration "reform" illegal alien amnesty
bill, however, puts you way beyond the pale:
1. The underhandedness of the secrecy with which you and Teddy Kennedy
and others concocted it reminds me of your (too often ignored) role in the
Savings and Loan scandals.
2. The arrogance of your comments to Sen. Cornyn rubs salt in the wounds
to your reputation as a conservative in that abysmal incumbent protection
act known as "McCain-Feingold" that opened the way for George Soros to buy
the Democrats.
3. The contempt you displayed for the American people in your comments
about the need to ram this through in order to avoid "extracurricular
politics" makes you utterly unfit to lead this country.
4. The substance of the proposal, which provides amnesty for millions of
illegal immigrants and will create immeasurable costs to the taxpayers, is
bad enough, but the utter failure of Congress to deliver the results of
last year's proposals on actually securing our borders, makes the promises
to improve security in the current bill mere rodomontade.
So, sorry John. I won't support you for the nomination. Moreover, if you
somehow gull enough Republicans into nominating you, I won't support you.
I'd rather vote for a third party candidate as a protest vote, knowing it
would help Democrats who aid our enemies.
It's time for you to go, John. Just Go! For Heaven's sake, just Go Away!
