Will New Hampshire Republicans Remember The REAL John McCain?
When "MyDearJohnLetter.com" launched in May, 2007, we were swamped with emails--many of them from New Hampshire--from Republicans telling Sen. McCain "never again." Many of letters below come from people who, like me, voted for McCain in 2000, but have been betrayed by the Arizona senator time and time again.
--We've rejected his adamant support of amnesty for illegal immigrants.
--We were rightly insulted when he compared us to Jim Crow racists in the old South for opposing the Kennedy-McCain amnesty legislation.
--We were appalled by his rejection of tax cuts and his continued support for the death tax.
--We were disappointed that he led the "Gang of 14" who blocked pro-Constitution conservative judicial nominees from ever getting a simple up-or-down vote from the Senate.
--We are horrified that Sen. McCain would let a bomb go off at Fenway Park rather than use waterboarding on the terrorist who knew its location.
Now, John McCain is back. He's still anti-tax-cut, he's still pro-amnesty, he's still protecting terrorists by offering them equal standing with legitimate, uniformed US soldiers. In short, he's still John McCain.
But will the voters of New Hampshire remember who he really is? Or will they fall for the massive barrage of friendly coverage from the openly pro-McCain media?
When McCain's campaign was collapsing, this website went into hiatus, hoping our work was done. Unfortunately, the pro-McCain media establishment has pumped new life into his campaign. The Republican Party is yet again in danger of nominating the Democratic Party's favorite son: John McCain.
New Hampshire Republicans are free, of course, to nominate a candidate who almost ran as JOHN KERRY'S vice president in 2004. But since the media won't remind voters of McCain's record, we're here to make sure everyone who votes McCain makes an informed vote.
We are confident that, the more you know, the less likely you will vote for the man who has worked so hard to betray so many.
